Broadway Hangouts: Some Suggestions

Broadway's School of Rock

It’s 4:3O PM on matinee day. What to do and where to hang in the theater district before dinner!?! After catching a matinee on a Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday, we want to talk about what we’ve just seen and relax with a drink before dinner….where to go, what to do. Our crowd likes to hang out at a beautiful cocktail lounge while discussing what we have seen or just watch the tourist crowd enjoying their time in NYC.

The Intercontinental Hotel at 300 W. 44th St.

This is our standby lobby bar. Very welcoming and also attached to the Todd English restaurant, CaVa Brasserie, so you also can stay for dinner.

The W Hotel at 1567 Broadway at 46th St.

The renovated lounge up on the seventh floor is very deco and glamorous! The small tables set in private areas of the lounge allow for privacy and people watching.

The Lambs Club at 300 W. 44th St.

Located one floor above the restaurant in the Chatwal Hotel, this space, with its floor to ceiling window wall, is a lovely place to spend some time before dining.

PHD Terrace at Dream Hotel at 210 W 55th St.

In short: Yet another good find.

citizenM Hotel at 218 W. 50th St and Broadway

At CitizenM, we talked our way up to the cloudbar which is for guests only. There you can enjoy the panoramic rooftop bar overlooking the world’s most iconic skyline.

Robert Restaurant at 2 Columbus Circle

This very special place is located on the ninth floor of the Museum of Arts and Design. The cocktail lounge has a spectacular view of Central Park and up Broadway and Central Park West. No admission to the museum is required to enjoy the lounge. Stay for dinner but plan ahead and make a reservation for a window table.
