5 Questions With… Vinnie DeMasi

Vinnie DeMasi

You might expect guitarist Vinnie DeMasi to talk your ear off with stories of his days working with legend Billy Joel (Broadway’s Moving Out), doo-wop doyens The Platters, or even impressionist-comedienne Marilyn Michaels. But DeMasi is more low-key than that and was much more interested in telling tales about an ‘80s tribute band for which he dresses up in period costumes that give “people permission to let their hair down.” The band’s infectious spirit has taken a hold of all types such as celeb chef Guy Fieri (who joined him onstage at a Food & Wine party) and Jimmy “Margaritaville” Buffett (who sang a few ‘80s covers at his daughter’s birthday). What tune from the era has emerged as “the ‘80s anthem”? You’ll have to watch to this latest installment of 5 Questions With… to find out.
