Bruce Hornsby's new album, "Absolute Zero," and accompanying tour really mixes things up -- in the best way possible.

Everyone knows about Hendrix, Joplin and the Dead. But there were many other bands, including some really big names, that got lost in the mix -- for various reasons. And there were others that were just ... odd. See more in the next episode of our Woodstock video series.

David & The Dorks is an early example but other Dead spin-off bands include Old and In the Way, Go Ahead, Weir & Wasserman, Dead & Company, and Golden Gate Wingmen.

“Cassidy,” “Looks Like Rain” and “Black Throated Wind” are great examples of Barlow’s poetic work for the Dead.
